Juvelook in Koh Samui: How Juvelook and Juvelook Volume Work

Juvelook Volume vials, the PDLLA and hyaluronic acid injectable offered at LIV Clinic, Koh Samui

Juvelook is a collagen-stimulating injectable from the Korean company Vaim, and you can have it in Koh Samui at LIV Clinic in Bophut. It combines PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) with hyaluronic acid (HA). LIV Clinic offers two versions: Juvelook for skin texture, fine lines and pores, and Juvelook Volume for deeper volume loss in the temples, cheeks and midface. Results build gradually as new collagen forms, and a doctor plans each course at a free consultation.

In short

What is Juvelook?

Juvelook is an injectable made by Vaim Co., Ltd., a company based in Daejeon, South Korea. Vaim’s product pages describe it as polylactide and hyaluronic acid injected under the skin to temporarily improve facial wrinkles in adults through physical restoration. In medical papers the product appears as PDLLA-HA.

The two ingredients do different jobs. PDLLA is a biodegradable material that encourages the skin to form new collagen in the treated area. Hyaluronic acid adds hydration and some early support. LIV Clinic explains the difference from a classic filler this way. A traditional filler mainly adds volume with the injected gel itself, while Juvelook is built around gradual tissue support and collagen stimulation.

Juvelook and Juvelook Volume

Vaim lists them as two products: Juvelook, one 50 mg vial per box, and Juvelook Volume, one 200 mg vial per box. LIV Clinic describes Juvelook as a lower-content PDLLA and HA formulation for texture, pores, fine lines and overall skin quality. Juvelook Volume is placed deeper and is aimed at facial volume and structural support. A 2026 expert consensus paper refers to Juvelook Volume as PDLLA-HA 200 and also by the name Lenisna, so you may see either name online.

How does Juvelook work?

The doctor places the product at the depth that suits the area, which for Juvelook Volume is deeper than a skin booster. The HA gives hydration and early physical support. The PDLLA particles then trigger a collagen response in the tissue. As that collagen remodels over the following weeks and months, the treated area can look softer, fuller and firmer.

Part of the fullness you see on the day can come from the fluid used to prepare the product and from temporary swelling. It settles, so judge the result over time.

Juvelook or Juvelook Volume: which one suits you?

The choice follows your main concern. In LIV Clinic’s words, Juvelook focuses more on the skin, and Juvelook Volume focuses more on deeper support.

Juvelook is usually considered for:

  • Skin texture and visible pores
  • Fine lines
  • Superficial acne-scar texture
  • Overall skin quality

Juvelook Volume is usually considered for:

  • Hollow-looking temples
  • Flat or deflated cheeks and a tired midface
  • Deeper facial folds
  • Mild to moderate facial volume loss, when you prefer a gradual change over an instant one

Some people need both. The doctor decides which product goes where after assessing your face, your skin and any past treatments.

Juvelook vs Sculptra vs HA filler

LIV Clinic offers all four, so this comparison is about fit. If you are deciding between a collagen stimulator and a filler, the guide to Sculptra vs filler explains that choice in more depth.

Juvelook Volume and Sculptra are both collagen stimulators, but they use different materials. LIV Clinic tends to consider Juvelook Volume for localised volume loss and softer restoration in selected deeper areas, and Sculptra for larger areas and broader age-related change. The clinic’s Sculptra page states that its effects can last up to two years or more. An HA filler is the usual choice when you want a precise, visible change straight away.

What to expect: sessions, comfort and downtime

How many sessions

There is no single protocol for every face. For Juvelook Volume, LIV Clinic says a course often involves about 2 to 3 sessions spaced around 4 to 6 weeks apart. The doctor may change that plan based on how much volume you have lost, the area, your age, your skin and tissue, earlier injectables and how you respond to the first session. The face is reassessed as collagen develops, rather than filled to a set amount on day one.

That spacing suits residents and longer stays on Koh Samui. On a shorter trip, ask the doctor how to plan sessions around your travel dates.

Comfort and downtime

Juvelook is an injection, so expect some discomfort. LIV Clinic lists pressure, pinching, stinging and temporary tenderness during treatment, and may use a topical anaesthetic or other comfort measures. Afterwards you may notice swelling, redness at the entry points, tenderness, bruising, or uneven fullness while the swelling settles. Many patients go back to normal daily activities quickly, though visible swelling or bruising can last several days.

Before your appointment

Tell your doctor about current medicines and supplements, allergies, previous filler or collagen-stimulator treatments, recent aesthetic procedures, any past reaction to an injectable, skin irritation or infection in the area, and relevant medical conditions. Do not stop a prescribed medicine without advice from the doctor who prescribed it.

Is Juvelook safe? What research and safety guidance say

What a published study reports

A 2026 study in the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery followed 20 patients with moderate to severe nasolabial folds treated with Juvelook in 3 sessions, one month apart. Three months after the last session, 85% were rated “improved” or “much improved” on a standard aesthetic scale and 90% reported high satisfaction. The authors reported only temporary swelling and bruising, with no nodules or delayed reactions during that follow-up. It is a small study without a comparison group, so it describes that group of patients and does not predict your own result.

Choosing who injects

All injectables carry risks. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) page on dermal fillers is general guidance and does not name Juvelook. It notes that most filler side effects, such as swelling and bruising, appear soon after injection and many resolve within days to weeks, while some can appear weeks, months or years later. It names unintended injection into a blood vessel as the most concerning risk. The chance is low, but it can cause tissue damage, vision problems including blindness, or stroke. A 2026 expert consensus paper on PDLLA-HA 200 (Juvelook Volume) describes blindness from accidental injection into a vessel as a rare but serious complication and sets out safe-injection technique. The FDA advises choosing a licensed provider with experience in dermatology or plastic surgery, and seeking urgent care for unusual pain, vision changes or skin turning white, grey or blue near the injection site.

At LIV Clinic, a doctor assesses you first and plans every Juvelook Volume treatment around your facial anatomy, the degree of volume loss and the result you want.

Juvelook at LIV Clinic in Koh Samui

Treatment at LIV Clinic starts with a free consultation, where the doctor looks at your facial proportions, volume, skin quality and treatment history before suggesting a plan. The doctors are led by Dr. Narathai Vichienkalayarut, M.D., who works with Dr. Suchakan Rotsaranrom. Dr. Narathai speaks Thai and English, completed the Recent Advances in Aesthetic Dermatology course at Mae Fah Luang University in 2020, and trained in mesotherapy and aesthetic procedures at the Aesthetic Concept Academy.

Juvelook can also sit inside a wider plan with other treatments, such as filler for one defined area or an energy-based treatment. The guide to non-surgical face lift options in Koh Samui shows how these fit together. The order and timing are the doctor’s decision.

LIV Clinic’s Koh Samui branch is at 1/63 Bophut (11:00 to 20:00, closed Wednesday). To book a free consultation, call 065-996-4242, message LINE @Livclinic, or visit the LIV Clinic contact page.

Frequently asked questions

Is Juvelook a filler?

Not in the usual sense. In Korea, Vaim lists both Juvelook and Juvelook Volume as a tissue-repair material and a single-use sterile medical device. A classic HA filler shapes an area with the gel itself, while Juvelook pairs HA with PDLLA so that part of the result comes from your own collagen. Medical papers call it a biostimulatory filler, and LIV Clinic notes that it is not used in exactly the same way as a traditional HA filler.

How long do Juvelook results last?

LIV Clinic does not give a fixed figure, because longevity depends on the treatment plan, the area, the number of sessions and how your body responds. The study above followed patients for three months after the final session only. Ask your doctor at LIV Clinic when and how your result will be reviewed after the course.

Can Juvelook Volume be used under the eyes?

Juvelook Volume is designed for deeper structural treatment. The skin directly under the eyes is thin and delicate, so LIV Clinic notes that another Juvelook formulation or a different treatment may suit that area better. The doctor first checks what is causing the under-eye concern and then recommends a treatment.

What should I avoid after Juvelook while on Koh Samui?

Your doctor may ask you to avoid intense exercise, saunas and steam rooms, excessive heat and aggressive facial treatments for a short time, and not to press or massage the treated area unless told to. Use gentle skincare and sun protection, which matters on a beach island. If symptoms are unexpected or getting worse, contact the clinic.

How much does Juvelook cost in Koh Samui?

LIV Clinic’s Juvelook Volume page does not list a price. The cost depends on your plan, which sets the product, the treatment area, the amount used and the number of sessions. Ask for the price of your personal plan at the free consultation or by LINE @Livclinic before you decide.
